Mewelde is special
Backup running back Mewelde Moore is currently the No. 1 punt and kickoff returner, according to special teams coach Paul Ferraro. That's interesting since Koren Robinson went to the Pro Bowl last season, and he told me Wednesday he wanted to do it again. Robinson, though, did field some kickoffs today, along with Troy Williamson.

I suspect they want to get Mewelde's hands on the ball without designating him the #1 back. He's talented, but still developing. The concern would be whether he can be and every down player and stay healthy all season. In the meantime, with Koren Robinson as the #1 receiver, and Mewelde the #2 back, kickoff and punt receiving gets him on the field where he can make a difference, taking less of a beating.
