Offensive...

What stood out to me about Day 2 of the mini-camp was how terrible Tarvaris Jackson looked. I don't recall him being so indecisive and uncomfortable Friday. On Friday, the biggest problem appeared to be his exchanges with C Matt Birk.

But on Saturday, Jackson seemed to have a lot of poor plays. He held the ball, and held the ball. And if he did throw it, Jackson appeared to force the issue. Once, he threw a pass into traffic, and WR Bobby Wade somehow emerged with the ball. I'm sure that's not how Brad Childress wants his offense run.

Meanwhile, Brooks Bollinger made some nice throws, at least giving his receivers a chance to make plays. Bollinger doesn't throw the ball as crisply as Jackson. But Bollinger shows accuracy, and he certainly -- at least on Saturday -- didn't hold the ball as long as Jackson.

Bollinger's highlight was a connection with Martin Nance in the morning session. The ball was a bit high, but Bollinger put it in a spot that only Nance could make the play.

So, do you think this guy is ready to lead our offense this year? I still can't believe they didn't go after David Carr, Trent Green, or another established veteran QB. I hope Childress knows what he's doing.

I don't know why everyone is so skiddish over Jackson and Bollinger. Both are an upgrade over Johnson from last year with his extra slow release and 2 mph throws that a lineman could intercept. Every successful quarterback needs a good offensive line and a solid running game. And with the five lineman playing together after a year and Adrian Peterson teaming with 1,200 yarder Taylor from last year, one of these quarterbacks will be solid for this team. Just watch!!!
