Tomlin on Pat Williams

"He's not where he needs to be," Tomlin said. "It's disappointing to me....We got one standard. As of now, he's not up to snuff."

This is shocking to me. Is he any fatter than last year? He's a nosetackle, he's supposed to be fat. Sean, does he look any fatter than last year? Do you think it's just a case of the new regime making an example out of him, saying that what they might have gotten away with in the old regime won't fly with the new one? Do you think that there's any truth to the speculation that they might trade him?

I don't think anyone needs to be too worried about this. Do you really think that Pat needs that much practice? Pat will be fine for the season...

I think Pat is in fine shape. In fact, he looks thinner than he was last year, something his agent told me.

I think Tomlin eludes to no preferential treatment in his "we got one Standard"...

Wow, that's even more shocking, there has to be a reason for it. If they wanted to trade him, this would lower his value, so it can't be that. I've bought into pretty much everything the new regime has done, but this one is quite puzzling.
