Smoot accident update

According to the Jackson (Miss.) Police Department, a 2007 Rolls Royce Phantom crashed into a guardrail at 2:51 a.m. Friday on Interstate 55 in Jackson.
Four occupants were in the car, and Fred Smoot was one of the backseat passengers.
The driver claimed he was sideswiped or about to be sideswiped and lost control of the car. No other vehicles were involved, and two other passengers sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
There were no signs of improper driving or of alcohol.
Smoot was believed to have been wearing a seatbelt.
