Herrera gets extension

The Vikings announced they have reached a contract extension with guard Anthony Herrera, who could have become an unrestricted free agent after this season.

Herrera has started the last six games at right guard, including an NFL-record 296-yard rushing game by rookie Adrian Peterson against San Diego and another 224-yard effort against Chicago.
