Robinson officially a free agent
Former Vikings WR Marcus Robinson was not claimed by any club, which means he is now an unrestricted free agent permitted to talk to anyone.
The Vikings also worked out three players, including running back Wesley Cates, who played at California University of Pennsylvania and former Stephen F. Austin State University receiver Tony Tomkins.
They also worked out a defensive back from Howard.
As for the Vikings injury report, no major surprises. QB Brooks Bollinger (shoulder), P Chris Kluwe (hamstring), and WR Troy Williamson (hamstring) are all questionable. TE Jeff Dugan (foot), LB Napoleon Harris (wrist), RB Chester Taylor (ribs), QB Tarvaris Jackson (knee) and TE Jim Kleinsasser (elbow) are all probable.

Why is it knee-jerk to consider releasing Childress? I dont understand everybodies theory on that. To just sit idle is just accepting the downward spiral our franchise will begin.
* season ticket base will/is declining.
* which costs the Wilf's more blackout dates or eating Childress' contract
* Childress' attempt to keep everybody in check (coaches)by hiring young coaches has failed the team already has more respect for certian coaches over Childress.
* Childress desrides himself as a disiplinarian yet on the field we lead the NFL in penalties, off the field we have had as many incedents if not more than any other year in memory include sex boat year and some of Burnsies teams
* With Childress' refusal to change his inept offense is just plain bad coaching not to mention the handcuffing of Johnson (according to other players)
* Childress' inability to play to the strength of his team **see handcuffing Johnson
I personally have been a huge fan of this franchise for many years and have never called for a coach to be released but I truly believe with all my heart and mind that Childress has not only done a bad job this season but if he stays on this path will destroy our franchise
* Lawmakers will not pass stadium bills if nobody is going.
* Season ticket sales will drop
* overall interst has already began to decline
* on feild it will be hard to bring in free agents
With all of these things already set in motion I believe it is not knee-jerk but essential to consider the release of Childress before our Vikings become LA's Vikings
