Why guards and their agents love the Vikings...
There are reports that guards Eric Steinbach and Derrick Dockery have just signed massive contracts.
Maybe they ought to give Steve Hutchinson and the Minnesota Vikings a kickback.
The Vikings were the first team to pay a guard offensive tackle money when they signed Hutchinson to a seven-year, $49 million deal. Not surprisingly, Steinbach and Dockery signed very similar deals, with Steinbach's worth $500,000 more. Hutchinson, though, is a far superior player to both players.
In fact, I don't believe either has even been to the Pro Bowl.
And did you see the money that cornerback Nate Clements got from San Francisco? My sources tell me he got $22 million guaranteed, making him the highest-paid defensive player in the league. It's obviously about timing, timing, timing.
