The Vikings held a morning news conference at Minnesota State University, Mankato to announce Alltel Wireless as the team's new training-camp sponsor and show off the school's renovated practice fields.
They also announced some special fan opportunities, starting July 28, when 50 fans visiting Alltel's Freedom Rig will be rewarded with two tickets to the sponsor's VIP tent, sideline passes and a tailgate party.
Among the other special events scheduled are Alumni Day (Aug. 3), Season-Ticket Owner Days (July 28 and Aug. 6) and Fan Appreciation Day (Aug. 15).
Rookies and veterans report to training camp July 25 and the first practices are July 27.
