Mewelde market heating up?
Tampa Bay lost another running back today, when Michael Pittman was carted off the field with a right ankle injury in the second quarter of the Bucs' game at Indianapolis.
The Tampa Tribune, citing an unnamed source, reported that Pittman suffered a small crack in his fibula and is expected to miss 3-4 weeks.
With starter Cadillac Williams already lost to a season-ending knee injury, that could revive trade talks between the Bucs and Vikings for running back Mewelde Moore.
Tampa Bay reportedly contacted the Vikings last week about a trade but was offering just a sixth-round draft choice, while Minnesota was looking for a pick in the first three rounds.
At the moment, Earnest Graham is the No. 1 running back for the Bucs, who ESPN reported might also be interested in former Miami Dolphins running back Ricky Williams.
Graham rushed for just 11 yards on six carries against the Colts in a 33-14 loss.

Don't get rid of him! Mewelde is a great player that always seems to look great in his limited play. To give him away for a second day pick would not be worth it. We already have an extra 3rd rounder that we got from Denver when they traded up to get DT Marcus Thomas in the draft. Keep him around for the rest of the year, then explore your options.
It would not surprise me if Spielman and Childress trade Moore for a second day pick. They have made plenty of stupid decisions why stop now? No proven #1 Wr, no true #1QB, a College center playing RT, cutting Dovonte Edwards and Thigpen, using Peterson as a Kick Returner (stupidest move yet).
Making Moore inactive really boosts his trade value too.. Childress/Spielman are idiots, plain and simple. Moore is the best 3rd down back the Vikes have had in years, he can take screens to the house, punt and kick returns as well. Why not showcase his talent and then get value rather then make him inactive and possibly get a second day pick or worse lose him with no pick...
Gents:
The thing is, Moore is gone after the season. This year has 3-13 or maybe 4-12 written all over it, so why hold onto an asset that is on its way out the door when there is the chance to get something for him?
Once Taylor is healthy, I would like AP to be on the field in 3rd down situations.
