Meachem to visit Vikings
Tennessee WR Robert Meachem will visit the Vikings on April 11, according to KFFL.com.
Meachem caught 71 passes for 1,298 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2006.
I'd be pretty satisfied with a trade down to the back quarter of the first and get Meahchem, or ideally still be able to snag him at the 7 spot in the second. He has all the physical tools and really broke out when he got the chance to start as a junior. He seems like a guy that should keep improving with NFL quality coaching (if we have that). It is good to see he is getting a serious look.
Sadly, I think 7 is too much of a reach for him. But I wholeheartedly agree with anyone who believes this guy has the potential to be a top-flight NFL receiver. Good size, good hands, tremendous work ethic.... and character doesn't even BEGIN to describe this Jesus-loving cowboy. If it's at all possible to trade back for him, I'd love it. Question is: How far back would you have to go so that you don't miss out on him or spend too much?
Dave: It looks like Meachem would be a decent value anywhere from 16 to 25 and steal anywhere after that according to the "experts." I would love to see the Vikes get back that far, take Meachem, and amass picks to address their general lack of depth at many positions.

Though I like Meachem and both Dwaynes, I think Meachem is my favorite choice of mid 1st round receivers. Supposedly a character guy too.
