Shiancoe gets five-year deal worth about $18 million
To make Winter Park his first and only stop, the Vikings signed TE Visanthe Shiancoe to a five-year contract worth about $18 million, including $7 million in guarantees.
Does that seem like a steep price to anyone else? There obviously was a market for him (Seattle was definitely a player). But that seems like a lot for someone who hasn't scored a touchdown in the last two seasons.
We'll see what the Vikings have to say in about 30 minutes.

Wow. The market this off season is out of control. It might be a good year to wait for a couple of weeks and then sign guys for closer to their market value. There are not any great players out there to sign anyhow. This is the weakest free agent class I have ever seen.
Looks like Chilli is at it again.
Over estimating talent and value.
No offense to Shiancoe, but 12
catches for 86 yards and 0 td's?!!
A guaranteed deal worth 8mil in 07?
They could have picked up McMichael
from Miami, for 1/2 the money and with as good of stats as any Viking receiver had last year. Now I know why the Dolphins canned Spielman!
