Wade visiting

Still looking for a wide receiver (or two), the Vikings are visiting today with Tennessee Titans free agent Bobby Wade.

Wade’s agent, Jerome Stanley, confirmed the visit but said there have been no contract talk as yet.

Wade, 26, has caught 101 passes in four seasons with the Titans and Chicago, including a career-best 42 for 481 yards for the Bears in 2004.

Last season, he finished as the Titans’ second-leading receiver with 33 catches for 461 yards and two touchdowns and also averaged 23.9 yards on 50 kickoff returns.

Spielman is said to have a free agency plan A,B,C,D. And aside from
presumably knowing the alphabet,
the plan seems to be to add 2nd and 3rd string players. I have a feeling that the Metrodome is going
to have alot of ticket holders dressed up as empty seats.

Ouch.

If they don't trade up to draft Calvin Johnson -- and by all means I now hope they do -- they better take a WR in the draft's first day, another in the second, and bring in as many undrafted WR free agents as possible. And even then . . .

How much did Kevin Curtis want again? 6 years, 30 million? Starting to sound great.

And what about Horn or Stallworth -- or even Shaun McDonald? What's the tender on Terence Copper? Always kind of liked him. Does Keenan McCardell have one more year in him?

Can the Vikes get a "do-over" on the Billy McMullen / Hank Baskett trade?

How about signing Ryan Hoag off the Redskins' practice squad?

Anything.

The Vikings are becoming about as exciting as watching a Rosie O'Donnell pillow fight.
Nothing short of trading up and drafting Calvin Johnson is going to bring excitement to this franchise. Amazing how after just one year we went from the "cream of the crop" team for Childress, to a team of duds. Real nice Brad, real nice.

Get a load of the Captain Bringdowns in here. Yes, it was wonderful last year when the Vikings were making all these big buys, but it's not a good market this year, so it's wise not to overextend. Get a few you really need and depend on coaching and the draft. I think we'll see a couple WRs in free agency, and a DE or CB still to come. I think we'll get a few rookie WRs and TEs, some undrafted and hopefully one up high. If it were Calvin Johnson I will run around the block with my shirt off.

I like Eric Moulds. If we got him I would atleast jog around the block in a tanktop.
