Notre Dame CB to come in for workout

The Vikings will bring in Notre Dame CB Mike Richardson for a pre-draft visit.

Richardson was a productive player for Notre Dame and looks like an in-your-face type of cornerback the Vikings covet.

Richardson is 5 feet 11, 188 pounds.

I hope they are figuring on signing him as an undrafted free agent rookie. He sure isn't worth drafting according to the so called experts.

according to nfldraftcountdown.com he isn't among the top 40 cb's available....so the toa will probably pick him in round 2.

My biggest impression of Notre Dame's secondary last year was that they were severely athletically over-matched when they played upper level competition. Luckily for the Vikes, they play the Lions, Packers, and Bears twice a year, which is kinda like the Irish playing the military academies, which is where Richardson looked good. Maybe this guy could start those six games and give Winfield a rest.

Sean,
Off the subject, but in your Troy Williamson article you make mention of a vision problem that the Nike facility was able to find, but then don't touch on what that problem was. Do you know what the eye problem is (if it's true), and, is it treatable? How could he develop a vision problem in one year? Just curious for some more info...

Nate,

I understand your question. I was just told they learned of problems and came up with solutions. I was not able to extract details... the agent didn't know them either.

I tried to call the Vikings and Nike. But neither has been willing to comment.

It's fairly private info, I guess. Or that's what Nike said.

Thank you Sean! I hope Nike has doctors that are as sweet as the Nike Air Force One shoes. Then Troy'd have the hands of Jerry Rice, or at least a lame song by Nelly named after him :)
